Refreshment for April. meeting is from Luetta Bergevin;

Message from President
I hope everybody will be taking some time to paint, draw or do something artsy. As you can see by our schedule, we have a lot of shows coming up in July.  We will have 3 places showing our art, so plan accordingly.
If you haven't been at meetings, you've missed some good demos. We want to THANK our artists who have shared with us their talents, and helpful hints. Thanks again.
Our Welding Sculpture Contest for high school students isn't doing so well, we haven't heard from anyone. We're going to give it a little more time. Maybe some will inquire.
I'm looking for someone who would like to be on the Scholarship Committee to interview the high school seniors who have applied. We have 4 so far from Douglas High. Whittell has until May 1st. to get their applications in. Also we haven't had anyone come forward to chair the Scholarship Show in Nov.
Keep art in your heart, mind, and through your hands to a product.
 Beth

Meeting Minutes
Beth called the meeting to order at 1:35. Janet Geary, Publisher, received Linda Townsend's painting, of the barn in Hope Valley, for the Record Courier. Jonni Hill and Shannon Litz were also there from the Record Courier. Jonni had taken photos at the WNNC show and the RC Staff voted on their selection. Linda received her $200 check for the painting.
The February meeting minutes were in the Newsletter.
Helen Martin gave the Treasurer's Report; we're still to solvent, $14K+.  Need to award some scholarships.
Reminded everyone to pick up their paintings at WNCC on 3/31 from 10AM to 11:30AM.
Nancy Kilberg gave an update on the Miniature Show at the EFG. Entry is 5/16 from 10AM to 2PM. The show runs through 7/18. The reception will be on 5/21. Maximum canvas size is 5 x 7; no limit on frame size, but be reasonable. No photos allowed. The entry form will be in the next newsletter.
The Scholarship posters are in place at Douglas and Whittell High Schools. The Douglas application date is 4/1. The Whittell date is 5/1; because the poster was late. Sunday, the Record Courier had a good article on the Metal Sculpture Competition at the Carson Valley Days Show. No response yet. Margaret Biggs gave Carson Valley Day Show pitch. Bring paintings and potluck food. It will be 3 entries per artist. There will be a Minor Master table, but no flea market. Margaret will need help. Entry forms and other details will be in the May Newsletter Janice Frost noted that the Nevada Museum of Art Field Trip will be 6/20. We will have a docent led tour and have tables reserved for lunch. Details later.
The CVAA/NAA 4th of July Show is set. We will set up Sunday evening and the show will run the 3rd and 4th. Tear down after the show on the 4th. The Town on Minden will have its 100th Anniversary events all day on the 2nd as a lead in to the show. It has been suggested to have a separate section in the show on scenes from the Town of Minden. Details as they develop.
The Reno Philharmonic Orchestra needs donations/paintings for their silent auction at their 4th of July Concert..
We still need a chair for the Scholarship show in November. A local theater group is lobbying to take the dates if we don't get our act together.
Adjourned for refreshments from Nancy Clarke at 1:55. Aprils refreshments will be from Luetta Bergevin
Arlene Oregoni gave a great demo on how she does her pastels. If you weren't there, you missed a good one. Cleaned up and reset the furniture at 3:20. Someone else will have this fun at the April meeting, as Nancy and I will be in Newhall for a WAOW Show.
       Respectfully submitted, Ron Clarke
