Larry Jacox
Larry Jacox grew up in southern
Washington state but has lived in the Reno and northern Nevada area since 1960.
He was an art major at Univ. of Washington in Seattle and finished his degree in
Art Education at UNR.
He worked for a number of years for Washoe
County Schools then switched to the Nevada bureau of Mines where he worked as a
graphic artist, draftsman and cartographer until retiring 12 years ago.
Larry’s work most recently has been largely
watercolors due to an allergy to oil painting materials. His subject matter is
mostly the western area landscape, but occasionally an aviation picture of
people scene sneaks in.
He’s involved with the local art clubs and
has been teaching a watercolor class at the Elder College in Reno for several
years. His work may be seen at the Artist’s Co-op at 627 Mill Street in Reno.
